A series of Street-view images taken of the ‘Jungle’ camp in Calais before its demolition. These images existed on Google Maps, tagged and geo-located to their positions in Northern France, as well as linked to the search term ‘The Jungle, Calais’.

In the time that they were linked to these search terms they received more than 800,000 ‘hits’.

On the day of the demolition of the camp the search term was removed by Google. The images still exist at their GPS co-ordinates, however no longer exist in ‘The Jungle, Calais’. They exist in a no-man’s land, represented by GPS codes. The camp has been reduced to a non-place, presumably by a Google employee, or algorithm.

They exist here as an archive, away from Google servers.
